Forecasting and Purchasing Coordinator

Allam Marine is accepting applications for a Purchasing and Forecasting Manager. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role would suit someone with experience in purchasing and forecasting in a manufacturing or distribution environment who is looking to progress their career with a well-established and globally-renowned business.

You’ll work closely with the sales teams to forecast demand for products, then manage the supply chain to ensure stock levels are maintained to enable us to provide our famously fast, efficient and comprehensive service to our customers around the world.

You would be joining Allam Marine at an exciting time in the development of the company, with ambitious plans for growth and a number of upcoming projects providing the opportunity for a varied brief.

Job Description

Your key direct responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the supply chain, maintaining a highly accurate MRP and stock management system.
  • Manage bespoke and reactive parts supply.
  • Up-to-date and clear communication with the sales teams.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, including global import and export changes which could impact the supply chain.
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and ‘onboard’ new suppliers where necessary to satisfy new parts supply.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure all procurement is competitive.
  • Support the engineering department with bills of materials.
  • Support the accounts team with cost of sales, ensuring they are working with the most up-to-date information.

You will play a supporting role in a number of strategic projects, including:

  • Implementation of a new warehouse barcoding stock control system.
  • Administration support for bonded warehouse stock.
  • Working towards achieving the ISO9000 quality standard.

  • Working knowledge of forecasting and MRP processes and relevant software / applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management.
  • Demonstrable experience in an equivalent role.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • High levels of written and verbal communication skills.


  • Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and warehouse operations.
  • Understanding of the demands of a service-driven sales environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping and import / export market.
  • Multi-lingual (Allam Marine operates in a number of global territories, including the Middle East and Africa).
